What is a Root Canal?
A root canal infection occurs with the nerve of the tooth is infected or inflamed. Oftentimes, this is caused by bacteria from food or debris entering the inside of the tooth. Root Canal Therapy
Rather than pull a tooth that is infected, your tooth may be restored with root canal therapy. This process involves thoroughly numbing the tooth to alleviate dental pain. The inflamed or dead nerve tissue of the tooth (and the source of your dental pain) is carefully removed through a small hole made in the top surface of the tooth, and the area is then cleaned and disinfected. It is then sealed with a dental filling or crown.
