Meet Dr. James Sands
Dr. Jim Sands is a partner and general dentist at Associated Dentists’ Verona office. Dr. Sands is experienced in all facets of dentistry, but he feels he is never done learning. His warm and reassuring personality is known to put even the most timid patient at ease.
From private study to longer courses and training opportunities, Dr. Sands is always striving to provide his patients with the latest innovations and techniques that dentistry has to offer. Nothing gives him greater satisfaction than being able to guide a patient through the process of fixing their smile.
Dr. Sands is a credentialed member in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. He earned his Associate Fellow designation in 2013 after completing over 300 credit hours of training in dental implants and passing a rigorous oral and written examination process. Dr. Sands feels that he owes it to his patients to have the training he himself would want in a dentist.
Dr. Sands and his wife Katy have three children that keep them very busy. He enjoys traveling, photography, videography, watching his children’s many sporting activities and biking. Six years ago, Dr. Sands began cycling with JDRF. The 100 mile Ride to Cure takes place around the US to help raise money for research to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes. By this year’s ride, Dr. Sands will have helped raise over $20,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
Philosophy on life
“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.” — Robert A. Heinlein

Meet The Team
Tiffany graduated from MATC in 2000 and assisted in oral surgery for 7 years. After assisting in periodontics for a year and a half she came to Associated Dentists in 2010. When not assisting, she likes golfing (she’s a pro), working out and cleaning.
My name is Zoe, and I grew up in Beijing, China. To pursue my passion of dentistry, I went to Forsyth School of Dental Hygiene in Boston, MA. I moved to Madison after graduating. As a dental hygienist, my goal is to offer the best care and attention to my patients. In my free time, I enjoy traveling with my friends and family, and exploring local places. Farmers market is one of my favorite weekly events.
Amanda graduated from the Dental Hygiene program at MATC in 2013. She has been with Associated Dentists since 2014. In her free time she likes to enjoy the outdoors and spend time with family and friends. Amanda is a Badgers and Packers fan. She also helps her dad with farming duties when she can.
I am a Certified Dental Assistant that loves seeing patient’s smiling faces. In my free times I lift weights and ride bikes with my family. I also am a mother to two kittens.
